In the picture: Short 63 cm, Long 72 cm. Open bottomed kanteles have a loud sound. Tuning pins and strings of steel. These kanteles are built quite near alike of those in museum.

Wood material is finnish alder, finished with non-poisonous varnish + wax.

Coloured kanteles

Since year 2010 you can have all our five string models in our basic colours with same price. The basic colours are: ............ Other colours can be made with a surcharge.

Five string blade model

Newest of our models. Same size with the Long, 72 cm, althoug lighter. Wood material is finnish alder, finishing non-poisonous varnish + wax. Tuning pins and strings are of steel.

Blade model has a large top, which gives it a loud sound. You can have the blade five string also with wooden tuning pegs, left handed or as an assembly kit.

We send our kanteles in a strong cardboard box with tuning key, extra strings and a short guide how to play and take care of your kantele.

Shortlong

Shortlong is the same size with the Short (63 cm), but the strings are as long as on the Long. So it can be tuned quite low (D, C...) still being small and light.

Wooden tuning pegs

Short, Long and blade model five string can be equipped with wooden tuning pegs, which takes the kanteles still a step nearer of the instruments found in museums.

Supply includes extra strings and short guide, but of course no tuning key. If needed, we have turning tools for wooden pegs too.

Blade model assembly kit

Assembly kit includes all the peaces and accessories (not glue or tools). Maple bracings for tuning pins and string holders are already fastened for you.

Assembling will not need special tools or unusual crafts. Finishing can be done easily, but it is also the part to be artistic and show your crafts. There is a building guide with the kit but it is also found here

Big Alto five string

Big Alto is one octave lower five string for orchestra playing. Size 85 x 23 cm.
Supplied with tuning key, extra strings and short guide in a strong cardboard box.

Five string piccolo

Five string piccolo is one octave higher instrument. There are two sizes, 30 cm and 40 cm. Carved alder, tuning pins of steel.
